Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, and of course, delicious food. But what if you’re celebrating this holiday in the cozy confines of your RV? Don’t worry—cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner in your RV kitchen is not only possible but can also be a lot of fun with the right tips and tricks.
In a video from "Pulling It Together" featuring Colleen, she shares her expert advice on how to make your RV Thanksgiving dinner a success.
1. Plan and Write Everything Down
Colleen emphasizes the importance of planning. "I write down everything that we’re having or that I’m responsible for cooking, and usually the prep time and how long it takes to cook it," she says. This method helps ensure that everything is ready at the perfect time.
If only planning my life was as easy as planning a Thanksgiving dinner in an RV—I'd be a millionaire by now!
2. Utilize Your Appliances Wisely
With limited space, it's crucial to make the most of your RV's appliances. Colleen suggests using an air fryer for the turkey breast. "I’m going to cook this in my air fryer to give me a little bit more oven space," she advises.
If only I could fit my entire life into an air fryer, I'd have so much more room for activities!
3. Keep Things Warm with a Crock Pot
Colleen also recommends using a crock pot to keep your mashed potatoes warm. "I’ve got it to warm so when my mashed potatoes are done, I’m just going to go ahead and put them in here," she explains. This frees up your stove top for other dishes.
If only I could keep my social life as warm and toasty as those mashed potatoes in a crock pot!
4. Be Mindful of Your Electrical Load
Managing your RV's electrical load is crucial to avoid any disruptions. "Pay attention to your loads so you don’t blow anything," Colleen warns. She even puts her refrigerator on propane to free up electricity.
If only managing my finances was as straightforward as managing an RV's electrical load—I'd never blow my budget again!
5. Enjoy the Process and Be Thankful
Finally, Colleen reminds us to enjoy the process and be thankful. "We’re so thankful for all you guys, all your viewers, and our family," she says. Thanksgiving is about gratitude, after all.
If only my gratitude could cook dinner for me, I'd be set for life!
